Since 2001, Lucy has been a huge hit with comedy audiences up and down the country with her distinctive, bouncy, feel-good comedy. There’s always a philosophical element to her shows, covering the topics that matter in her life: The erosion of our civil liberties, the rise of surveillance society, the infantilization of grown-ups, the reason why so many comedians are depressive alcoholics and the ingredients for a really excellent dirty martini.
As a writer and performer, Lucy has continued to contribute to panel and sketch shows on BBC Radio 2 and 4.
Twins is a sketch-comedy double-act written and performed by Jack Barry and Annie McGrath, two of the most laidback people you might never meet.
In Annie McGrath – every bit the cherubic churl – Twins has a unique and curiously endearing half. Never shy of dodging a predictable punch line, she is a fearless navigator of the offbeat. Beside her, Jack Barry takes gormlessness into new territory. Fuelled by flights of fancy, constant deviation, and spontaneous drollery, Barry is very much the natural humorist. Together, they form one of the most unique, charming and exciting new double-acts around.
Annie and Jack met at Leeds where they were both cast in the University’s sketch comedy group, the Leeds Tealights. After graduating, they formed Twins and have since performed at Latitude Festival, Machynlleth Comedy Festival and the Edinburgh Fringe. Twins’ debut hour was produced by The Invisible Dot.
Come and see Gareth Richards (2010 Foster’s Edinburgh Comedy Award Best Newcomer nominee) try out brand new material in preparation for his 2014 Edinburgh solo-show. Gareth offers delectable comedy delights, with or without instrumentation, and his off-beat and unique style makes him one to watch!
