Fairport Convention return to the Court Theatre for the last night of their acoustic tour.

After more than 45 years on the road Fairport Convention, the originators of British folk-rock music, remains one of the most entertaining bands on the live music scene.
This year’s Acoustic Tour features all five members of Fairport and presents a more intimate take on the band’s repertoire. This concert will include old and new – favourite songs and instrumentals from the band’s extensive back catalogue will be interspersed with numbers from their most recent albums.

Featuring Simon Nicol on guitar and lead vocals, Dave Pegg on bass and backing vocals, Chris Leslie on fiddle, mandolin, bouzouki and lead vocals, Ric Sanders on violin and Gerry Conway on percussion.

Fairport has won a coveted BBC Lifetime Achievement Award and the band was recently the subject of a major music documentary on BBC Four television. Radio 2 listeners voted Fairport’s groundbreaking album Liege & Lief ‘The Most Influential Folk Album of All Time’.
